Macbeth by William Shakespeare – the Lord Chamberlain’s Men on tour until 29 August 2021. William Russell

This celebrated all male company is embarking on a lengthy UK tour starting on 4 June of the Scottish play. It will be performed in cathedrals and stately homes and gardens the length and breadth of the land from Cornwall to Yorkshire in the manner of Elizabethan productions. We won’t get to review it until it reaches Chiswick House on 7 July but it promises to be an event not to miss. It opens in Salisbury on 4 June and the UK tour will end on 29 August at the Royal Ascot Golf Club. A European tour will follow.
Full details of the venues in which the company will be performing – they range from Chichester and Norwich Cathedrals to stately homes like Chatsworth and Holkham Hall – can be found on their web site and on Facebook.
