Too long, too short; at any rate not the right road to take.
Despite its title, this is quite a short play. ThatÃ¢Â€Â™s because playwright Shelagh Stephenson doesnÃ¢Â€Â™t keep right on to the end of the Road Ã¢Â€Â“ the path to forgiveness by the family of a young man stabbed in the street by an 18-year old woman. And the end is more like an interval point, a change in direction not a finality.
The bereavement leaves the father angry and relying on alcohol, the mother bereft, seeking to understand why it happened, and a brother feeling guilty while wanting to get on
