Worth an outing from the cabinet of dramatic curiosities.
Great writers have their also-rans, great obsessed writers more than most. ItÃƒÂ¢Ã‚Â€Ã‚Â™s not hard to see Tennessee WilliamsÃƒÂ¢Ã‚Â€Ã‚Â™ obsessions in his free adaptation of Anton ChekhovÃƒÂ¢Ã‚Â€Ã‚Â™s Seagull. Director Phil Wilmott emphasises the point by transferring the action from a Russian estate to the USA, with Black servants and suggestions of lazy heat.
Yet thereÃƒÂ¢Ã‚Â€Ã‚Â™s an emotional chill as a writer (Stephen Billington, with a clear resemblance to the youngish Tennessee) watches from
